Este manuscrito comenzó a gestarse a finales de la década de los noventa, cuando el autor Jeffrey St. John realizó una extensa serie de entrevistas grabadas a Manuel F. Ayau. Posteriormente inició la redacción del libro, pero falleció en 1997. Las grabaciones pasaron entonces a Thomas Landess, quien en el 2008 preparó esta versión, casi definitiva del manuscrito, aprobada en su momento por Manuel F. Ayau. Quien lea esta obra también encontrará en ella un modelo útil para replicar la experiencia de la Universidad Francisco Marroquín en otras partes del mundo.

This book manuscript was initiated in the late 1990s when our author Jeffrey St. John did an extensive series of taped interviews with Manuel F. Ayau. He then started writing but was felled by cancer in 1997. The tapes were turned over to another of our authors, Thomas Landess, who produced this nearly-final manuscript in 2008, a version that Manuel Ayau, working with Landess, approved at the time. You will find the work useful as a model for replicating UFM in other parts of the world.
